Prince Philip: The Queen resumed royal duties after the death of her husband | UK News

The Queen resumed her royal duties four days after the death of her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The monarch hosted her first in-person event since Prince Philip’s death, holding a ceremony as Earl Peel formally stepped down as Lord Chamberlain on Tuesday.

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, said his mother supported Stoicism and the family had come together to support her.

The monarchy and royal households will observe two weeks of mourning, it was announced this weekend. Family members will continue “to undertake commitments appropriate to the circumstances,” a royal official said.
