Dulux apologized after mocking Tottenham Hotspur – immediately after being signed as a new sponsor.
The paint brand said it was “deeply sorry” for any social media posts that mocked and investigated the team’s performance.
The apology came after the paint supplier announced its new partnership with Spurs on Twitter on Thursday.
He posted a photo of the famous English Sheepdog which he uses in advertisements to pretend to tour New White Hart Lane.
But as fan comments started pouring in, the brand’s responses took a surprisingly sarcastic turn.
Responding to a message asking if the Dulux dog could play center, he said: “He could do a better job.”
Another article asked if the brand plans to repaint the trophy cabinet, prompting a response that surfaces should be “dust free” before painting.
