“I have to say though, it’s a daunting task for any actor to play the part after Daniel Craig. No one knows what’s going on.

“This will be an exciting casting time for the Bond production and I wish whoever gets it the best of luck.”

The Welshman already has a string of acting roles under his belt, including stars like Gaston in the live-action Disney Beauty And The Beast, Bard in the Hobbit movies and as Owen Shaw in the Fast And Furious franchise.

He recently appeared in ITV’s The Pembrokeshire Murders.

Evans is the latest star to launch her name in the ring ahead of the release of Craig’s latest Bond film later this year.

René-Jean Page, who has just left Bridgerton from Netflix, is the favorite of bookmakers to be cast in the role, alongside Outlander star Sam Heughan and the man who brought Bane to life in the Dark Knight films, Tom Hardy.
