This is the new 2021 Porsche 911 GT3. And it’s different: bigger, faster … better? We’ll see.
The big news about this latest GT3, based on the 992-series 911, is that it features double-wishbone front suspension, rather than a MacPherson strut, for the first time in history. from the 911. It also has a sophisticated aerodynamic lineup, including a gooseneck mount for the rear wing.
Elsewhere, things are more familiar. Like its predecessor 991, it has a 4.0-liter flat-six engine, but now producing 503 hp (510 hp), and going through a PDK dual-clutch manual or automatic gearbox (the auto is tested here).
The performance is mega. It will do 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 198 mph (199 mph in manual). And, if you count, the fuel mileage is 21.7-21.9 mph and it emits 283-304 g / km of CO2. It is priced at £ 123,100 in the UK.
But how well does all of this hardware make the latest GT3? Join Andrew Frankel as he puts the car to the test at Bedford Autodrome.
