William and Kate: 10 years in 10 pictures – the classics and some you might not have seen | UK News

To mark 10 years of their marriage, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released two new photos.

Images – taken at Kensington Palace this week by photographer Chris Floyd – capture William and Kate beaming as much as they were 10 years ago.

But throughout their marriage – and from their very early days at St Andrew’s University – the couple had to get used to life in front of the lens.

Here are some of their most memorable moments:

We start with a ring – a very special sapphire

Prince William offered Prince Diana’s engagement ring with his late mother while the couple were on vacation in Kenya – a 12k oval blue sapphire surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds, set in white gold.

In an interview following their engagement, William said: “It’s my mom’s engagement ring. I thought it was pretty cool because obviously she won’t be there to share the fun and excitement of all of that, so it was my way of keeping her close to everything. “

2011: the kiss

Married life began with a fairytale ceremony at Westminster Abbey attended by 2,000 people. He was sealed with a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The photo of the “kiss” was making headlines around the world.

Do the things normal couples do

In addition to their support for various charities, they have traveled the world representing the Queen and the Royal Family – and managed to have fun at the same time.

During a trip to Canada in 2016, they took advantage of a fishing spot. And in an unguarded moment, the Duke of Cambridge enthusiastically shows his wife the salmon he’s caught, eliciting what looks like high praise.
