Travelers who set up camp at Sheffield’s football fields move on UK News

Earlier in the week the group had vowed to move on by Friday and Saturday they were gone.

The travelers who set up camp on the land off Norfolk Park Road are now gone.

The travelers had stood near, but not on, soccer fields used by the Pro Socker Pumas Junior Football Club.

Reports of the illegal site were made to both Sheffield Council and South Yorkshire Police and the travelers were questioned.

Council said on Wednesday: “We visited the site to speak to occupants and provide advice and support on waste and health and safety.

“We have been assured that this is temporary and that everyone who is presently there will be leaving by Friday April 30.

The travelers who set up camp on the land off Norfolk Park Road are now gone.

“We will be visiting again on Thursday to make sure they still intend to continue as planned.”
