A KNIFE with a Nordic accent attempted to rob a man walking along a canal.
The victim said he was confronted at 2 a.m. on Friday April 30 at Canal Wharf in Stockbridge Road, Chichester.
A suspect demanded that he hand over his personal effects and allegedly brandished a knife.
But the victim was able to flee the area unharmed and nothing was reported as stolen.
Detective Sergeant Emma Fields said the victim was “shaken” by the incident.
The suspect was a white male between the ages of 20 and 40, 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a Nordic accent, police said.
He was wearing a black hoodie, black sweatpants, and a scar, tattoo, or bruises under one of his eyes.
DS Fields said: “Fortunately, the victim was able to escape the suspect unharmed, but the incident naturally shook him.
“We look forward to hearing from anyone who has witnessed the incident, saw a man matching the description, or thinks you may have a home video surveillance system that could help our investigation get in touch with us without delay. .
We are calling witnesses following an attempted theft at Canal Wharf / Stockbridge Road.
