In the late 1950s, Mr. Teret is said to have met Mr. Savile at a singing competition in a Manchester ballroom.

Teret became a waiter at The Ritz Ballroom in Manchester city center in the early 1960s and it was there that he again met Savile, who remembered him as ‘The Singer’.

He was then offered a job at his Jimmy Savile Disc Club at Higher Broughton where he became a DJ before severing ties with Mr. Savile.

He was employed by Mr. Savile as a driver in the 1960s after working at Radio Caroline.
