Parking in Bath could be about to change if the proposed changes are approved.

Bath and North East Somerset Council has released new parking permit proposals in an attempt to make the area greener.

This would include changes to make it easier for residents and visitors to use public transport and to make cycling or walking safer.

The ultimate goal is to reduce carbon emissions and improve the air quality in the neighborhood, the council said.

The changes are part of a consultation that will see council contact residents and businesses for their views on the proposals.

According to the council’s plan, they hope the consultation will help promote a “ major shift ” towards public transport, walking and cycling, with incentives to reduce the use of more polluting vehicles, in line with the strategy. British Government’s National Air Quality System.
