Jordan Banks: Family pays tribute to 9-year-old boy killed after being “struck by lightning” | UK News

The family of a nine-year-old boy who died after apparently being struck by lightning paid tribute to their “beautiful boy” by saying “he was everything to us”.

Jordan Banks is believed to have died after being struck by lightning on a football pitch in Blackpool. Police were called shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday to fields near School Road after learning that a child had been injured.

Emergency services came and the boy was rushed to hospital but died soon after.

In a statement, Jordan’s family said, “Yesterday our worlds came to a standstill. We lost the brightest star, our beautiful boy Jordan.

“His laugh, that contagious smile, his golden curls, he was everything to us.

“Wise beyond his years, caring, caring, generous and so loving. Our love is endless. Good night, beautiful boy.

“We thank you all for your kind words and support, but as a family we ask you to respect our wishes and our privacy.”
