A VAN used to deliver hot meals to those who could not afford food was stolen.

Police are looking for a white ‘meal on wheels’ van that was stolen while delivering in the Uckfield area around 2pm this afternoon.

The vehicle has the inscription “Mother Theresa” on the side and the license plate is MT10YUM.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “Please dial 999 if you see it – thank you.”

“Meals on Wheels” is a program that provides meals to people at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals.

Many of the people who drive the vans are volunteers, who help deliver food across the county.
