An adviser has withdrawn from Barnet’s conservatives to take care of a personal matter, according to a statement from the group.
Cllr Shimon Ryde, who represents Childs Hill, is currently listed as an independent advisor on the Barnet Council website.
It comes days after the Tories bolstered their majority on the board by holding a seat in Edgware and securing a seat in East Barnet in two byelections.
Elected in 2014, Cllr Ryde recently served as Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee.
Barnet curators said: “Cllr Ryde has stepped down from the Conservative group to deal with a personal matter, and we hope to welcome her back to the group in the future.
“Cllr Ryde has made it clear that he continues to fully support the leader and the Conservative administration.
The Barnet Council is currently made up of 37 Conservative advisers, 23 Labor members, two Liberal Democrats and one independent.
