M5 attack: Woman hospitalized after driver hit and kicked her Bath City News

A woman in her 20s was rushed to hospital after a terrifying attack just off the M5.

The victim was on an M5 ramp on Wednesday May 12 when the driver of a black Nissan pickup truck crossed his lane, causing damage to his car.

The man driving the van got out and attacked the woman. He punched and kicked her and also attempted to take her car keys and cell phone.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on the southbound exit ramp at Junction 24 for Bridgwater.

Avon and Somerset Police are calling for witnesses and any information that could help locate the attacker. They treat the incident as an attempted theft.

“The man is described as white, between 30 and 40, with short, spiky brown hair,” said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police.

“He was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wore a gray top and blue jeans.

“The victim was left with injuries which required hospital treatment. She has since been released.
