Skoda has revised its Kodiaq SUV for 2021, with new technology and a styling makeover that aligns the optional seven-seater with the brand’s latest creations.
The Czech company offered the Kodiaq from £ 27,650, with the choice of SE, SE L, SportLine and L&K trims – as well as the top-of-the-range vRS. All models get standard LED headlights, dynamic turn signals and an elongated black rear spoiler and gray interior stitching, with all trim above the SE benefiting from Matrix LED technology.
The SE L trim is offered for £ 31,895 and wins 19-inch Triglav alloy wheels, front and rear LED matrix headlights with turn function, chrome roof rails and floor mats. The Sportline will be offered for £ 35,805, earning a rear parking camera, and those opting for the L&K version, starting at £ 41,720, will receive Skoda’s virtual cockpit.
The update includes the return of the vRS performance model to the lineup with gasoline powered power and 20-inch anthracite alloy wheels with aerodynamically optimized covers. It follows the outgoing 237bhp twin-turbo diesel version being phased out late last year due to tighter emissions rules. Prices for the vRS have not yet been confirmed.
The Kodiaq was launched in 2016 as the first model of the Czech company’s expansion SUX, and has since been followed by the smaller Kamiq and Karoq. It is built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform as used by the Volkswagen Tiguan and Seat Tarraco.
For this mid-life facelift, Skoda refreshed the Kodiaq with a new straighter grille, raised hood, revamped front and rear bumpers and revised headlight design, with Matrix LED elements available for the first time.
The S, SE and SE L trim levels also benefit from new aluminum effect details on the front and rear apron, intended to give it more “off-road style”. A new rear spoiler as well as “ fins ” on the sides of the rear windows have been added to optimize aerodynamics and reduce CO2 emissions.
The interior has also been revised, with new seating designs including a choice of ergonomic leather seats with power adjustment. SE and SE L moveld seats can also be fitted with “Eco” seats with covers made from recycled vegan materials.
The 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital display is an option on all models, as is a new Canton 10-speaker sound system. It remains a standard 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, with a 9.2-inch version available as an option. There is also revamped LEB mood lighting.
