Bognor retiree seriously injured after being hit by car Brighton News

A PEDESTRIAN was seriously injured after being struck by the driver of a car.

The retiree was walking Richmond Avenue in Bognor at 7.15am Thursday, May 20.

He was struck by a silver Toyota Avensis station wagon.

Police said the 75-year-old Bognor man had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver was uninjured.

Now officers are asking anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Sussex Police said: ‘We are looking for witnesses to a collision in Bognor in which a pedestrian was seriously injured.

“The 75-year-old man and a silver Toyota Avensis estate collided at Richmond Avenue, Bognor, at 7.15am on Thursday, May 20.

“The pedestrian is in the hospital with very serious injuries. The driver of the car, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured.

The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
