A toddler has died after being found in a Derbyshire wading pool, police said.
The 23-month-old boy was found “unanswered” at a Nottingham Road address in the village of Somercotes on Wednesday, according to Derbyshire Police.
Paramedics were called to the scene just before 1:30 p.m. and the boy was taken by air ambulance to Royal Derby Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after, the force said.
“Our hearts go out to his family at this most difficult time,” he added.
“Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident on behalf of the coroner.”
