They have accumulated a 4.5 star rating out of 40 reviews and have built a good reputation in the city.

Located at 2 Salisbury Street, the restaurant is not too far from the city center.

One outstanding reviewer said: “I use Blue Ocean quite regularly and have always been delighted with superb food and service and at a very reasonable price.

“The food is never greasy and the portions are huge. Exceptional.”


The Dolphin Fish Bar ranks highest for fish and chips in Bridgwater with a four star rating.

Located just off the A372, the location is accessible to many in the center of town and the reviews are very good.

One person this year said, “The food was great and the customer service great.

“The best French fries shop in Bridgwater, I would definitely recommend it.”


Palmers Fish and Chips is Yeovil’s best chippy, according to Tripadvisor.

“The fish was delicious and again perfectly cooked, as were the lovely crispy fries.

Prices range from £ 2-5 and it’s easy to find from the seaside.

Nestled along Summerland Road, residents know they will find quality fish and chips here.

One reviewer said: “The fries were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, hot and melting in your mouth on the inside, the chicken nuggets were out of this world and made with real chicken and the fish looked like nothing we had ever tasted before.

“You won’t find better fish and chips in Minehead, Somerset or even the South West, I would go so far as to say in the UK.”


Whiterow Fish and Chips has been rated as Frome’s Best Chippy.

With a rating of 4 stars out of 527 reviews, they comfortably outperform their competition.

You’ll have to walk a short distance outside of Frome to reach them at White Row Farm, but the trip is well worth it.
