Cauldwell lags behind as more than half of Bedford residents are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 Bedford News

More than half of Bedford residents have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine, figures show.

NHS data shows 77,025 people had received both injections as of June 13 – 56% of people aged 16 and over, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.

Of those who received both jabs, 73,061 were aged 30 and over, or 66% of the age group.

This means that 3,964 people aged 16 to 29 received both doses.

NHS vaccine data also reveals variation in coverage for residents who had received at least one dose between different areas of Bedford.

In Bedford, 83% of people aged 16 and over have experienced a jab.

AREAS WITH THE HIGHEST COVERAGE:

1) Wootton and Stewartby, with 100% of people aged 16 and over receiving their first dose

2) Bromham and Biddenham, 96.6 percent

3) Riseley and Sharnbrook, 93.7 percent

AREAS WITH THE LOWEST COVERAGE:

1) Cauldwell, 66.6%

2) Queens Park, 66.9 percent

Across England, 25.3 million people had received a second dose of the vaccine by June 13 – 56% of the population aged 16 and over.

This includes 23.8 million people aged 30 and over – 67% of the age group.

A total of 34.7 million people had received at least one dose of a vaccine by the same date, covering 76% of people over 16 years of age.
