The 16-year-old was questioned after a boy a year younger was stabbed in the leg on Hastilar Road South, which connects Woodthorpe and Richmond, around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 24.
South Yorkshire Police said the injured teenager was taken to hospital with stab wounds in the leg and was subsequently released.
The boy arrested in the incident was suspected of injuring and assaulting a rescuer.
