Man stabbed in chest after fight outside Golden Skewer takeout in Selby Yorkshire News

The 37-year-old man was stabbed in the chest after a fight broke out between a group of men in the alley next to the Golden Skewer takeout around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25.

The man was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary, where he received treatment for the stabbing.

He has since been released from the hospital.

Police confirmed that a man in his thirties and from Selby was arrested in connection with the incident.

He has since been released on parole.

Detective Sergeant Emma Newton of York and the Selby Department of Criminal Investigation said: “We recognize that an incident of this nature is concerning and disturbing to local residents. However, I would like to assure people who live in the area that a thorough investigation is underway and that there is no threat to the general public.

“I would ask any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police or anyone with information that helps our investigations to contact the force control room at 101 and relay that information.
