Wimbledon: Brighton Palace Pier to show all Wimbledon matches on the big screen Brighton News

ALL of this year’s Wimbledon matches will be broadcast for free at Brighton Palace Pier, it has been confirmed.

In a tweet, the pier said all games will be shown on the big screen at Horatio’s bar and garden.

The news comes after it was announced that the pier will not be showing England’s future matches at Euro 2020, due to planned private functions and events.

The semi-final against Denmark on Wednesday and the final on Sunday will not be broadcast, although the venue is a popular spot for Three Lions fans.

Anne Ackord, Managing Director of Brighton Palace Pier, said “hopefully there will be a lot of places people can see or watch them from home”.

Tomorrow’s match between Spain and Italy – which could decide who plays England in the final – will also not be broadcast.

The decision leaves the city without a big screen for England’s first European semi-final in 25 years, and potentially their very first European Championship final.

However, many bars and pubs in Brighton and Hove will be showing the match, which starts at 8pm.
