Motorists heading towards the M5 are faced today (Saturday July 10) with a “high volume of traffic” in the South West.
A police incident closed a lane of the northbound carriageway between Cribbs Causeway and Avonmouth this morning at around 11 a.m.
This caused big delays but the closure has already been lifted.

On the southbound highway, vacationers are also caught in traffic jams during the usual weekend rush.
The Highways England South West team said it expects “high stay traffic volumes today”.
