A statement from the RFL and the Super League confirmed: “Hull FC have postponed their match against Leigh Centurions after a third member of their senior team tested positive, with a fourth symptomatic player awaiting a PCR test result.

He added: “Warrington Wolves have postponed their match at Hull KR with four players in their senior squad now confirmed positive or symptomatic, plus three more needed to isolate as close contacts, again bringing them to the threshold of seven.

“Two non-playing staff members also tested positive.”

The statement insisted that the affected clubs had tried to start the matches.

“Both Hull FC and Warrington have additional players outside of their top 25 discarded through positive testing or as close contacts,” he said.

“[That] In addition to a host of other selection issues, it has foiled your attempts to go to great lengths to be accessory compliant, despite the Covid Accessory Protocols.

“Clubs will now contact the RFL about a possible reorganization of the matches, although the Betfred Super League table will once again be determined by the percentage of points won to allow for the possibility of not all matches being fulfilled.”

Coronavirus outbreaks at various Super League clubs have wreaked havoc on the match roster in recent weeks, with Huddersfield, Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils among those having matches postponed.

Additionally, both Castleford and the Giants have had to forfeit games due to injury problems, and their opponents earned a 24-0 victory.

The latest postponements mean that all competing clubs have had at least one game delayed or canceled.
