- Moore is likely to continue to experiment with his side
- New recruit Shodipo goes straight into XI
Green was brilliantly spotted and found by Luongo with a ball on top, and while the winger brought him down beautifully, his shot was saved. He should have done better, probably.
Then seconds later the ball fell for Adeniran at the edge of the box, who deftly let it tear with a superb volley – unfortunately he cut the bar and went over it. Much more intensity now, much better.
Hagan tries to fight his way through Alfreton’s defense. He passes the keeper once, but he is far from the goal. The goalkeeper succeeds afterwards, Paterson has a blocked shot and the danger is over. More impetus from the Owls.
Wednesday, trying to be patient in the second half – they started off pretty bright, but have yet to force the goalkeeper to stop.
Their corner was cleared and Dawson had a save to make shortly thereafter. Alfreton is certainly holding up tonight.
The Owls have a corner after Paterson is found …
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru had to come in – so didn’t. Hagan stays on the ground.
Darren Moore changes everyone …
It’s 0-0 at the break between Alfreton and Wednesday … The Owls will make a lot of changes at halftime, with a lot of new faces coming in for the second 45.
Wednesday became the game as it went, with Mile Shodipo the closest to giving them the edge.
Big challenge from the German, who looks sluggish. He is receiving treatment, but he is on his feet and appears to be doing well.
Hagan drives to the Alfreton and hits a loud, low – he is saved, however. It looks sharper as this game progresses.
I didn’t think I would write that tonight … It’s not a terrible effort from the center-back, but it didn’t bother the goalkeeper.
Shodipo and Windass with half chances – both created by Bannan – but the hosts keep them at bay. Good work from Captain Owls.
Shodipo is inches away from scoring a goal in his first appearance on Wednesday… Borner found Bannan, who downsized him for the new Owls winger. He cut in and tried to fold it in the lower right corner – it wasn’t far.
Dawodu does well in the lower right and is slammed for his troubles, but his ball finds Windass who sparked a goal. I just needed someone at the end. Wednesday find their marks a little.
