Queen guitarist Brian May shared his anger after a number of his “precious” possessions were destroyed when his house was flooded.
May’s property was overtaken in the flash floods that hit the capital Monday evening and Tuesday morning after intense showers.
73 year old man said he had returned from a day at Royal Holloway College for “the horror in our house” in Kensington, west London.
In a post on Instagram, he added: “The whole ground floor had been inundated with an overflow of sewage – which covered our rugs, rugs and all sorts of precious things (to us) with a stinking mud.
“It’s disgusting, and actually quite heartbreaking. It feels like we’ve been invaded, desecrated.”
He added that his wife, Anita Dobson, had “a lifetime of memories on the floor of our basement – and most are soggy and crumbling,” and he had only recently moved some “precious” childhood photos “in his basement, which have been” turned into a soggy mess. “

The guitarist blamed the “infamous” Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council for the flooding in another article, adding that they are “responsible for all the misery that is going on in my neighborhood tonight”.

He also criticized “selfish” borough residents for building basements under their properties, which he said disrupts drainage – a claim disputed by council.
