UEFA to investigate fan behavior in and around Wembley in Euro 2020 final | UK News

UEFA has announced that it has launched an investigation into the events involving supporters in and around Wembley Stadium during Sunday’s Euro 2020 final.

The football authority has also opened disciplinary proceedings against the FA for events that took place in England’s game against Italy.

The charges against the FA include a fan on the pitch during the match, objects thrown by supporters, disturbance caused by supporters during the national anthem, throwing objects and igniting fireworks.

The game was marred by unrest outside Wembley, with some fans making their way into the stadium.

People without tickets violated stadium security, and Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham said a full review would take place into what had happened.

The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body in due course.
