What we know
The M5 is closed in both directions between J23 – J24 near Bridgwater for a police-led incident.
Avon and Somerset Police are on site and Highways England traffic officers are assisting.
The M5 is also closed northbound between J25 – J24 for planned road works.
Northbound road users are advised to follow the full circle detour symbol from J25 to J24 via the A38. Then, at J24, continue along the A38, now following the full triangle detour symbol. Road users can resume their journeys north from J23.
Road users traveling south from J23 are advised to follow the solid square detour symbol via the A38 to resume their journey from J24.
