A new Jobcentre has opened, giving job seekers better access to help and opportunities to find work.
The center is located in the North London Business Park and a short walk from Arnos Grove tube station and New Southgate Overground.
The Jobcentre is only temporary but it complements the existing sites in Hendon and near Chipping Barnet.
Brunswick Park Road’s new Jobcentre has a strong team of 70 work coaches, some of whom have recently joined the Department of Work and Pensions as part of a recruitment drive to hire 13,500 new work coaches across the country.
Mims Davies MP and Employment Minister said: ‘We know these have been difficult times for many people and that is why we are stepping up our support for the DWP Jobcentre in every community across the UK, including here north of London.
“Each client benefits from a dedicated Work Coach. He knows the local job market and works with local businesses to match job seekers with the latest opportunities.
“It’s great to see our Jobs Plan in action, from Kickstart to Sector Based Work Academy programs, our professional coaches are there to help people thrive and progress in their jobs. ”
Erin Ozlem Muslu, who is one of these new hires based at the North London Business Park Jobcentre, said: “I love having the opportunity to help people and also explore my own skills to tailor the service to needs of our vulnerable customers.
Sunitee Ramrecha, Customer Service Manager overseeing the new site, bringing with her 25 years of DWP experience, added: “I am really excited about the opening of this new site. This will help relieve some of the pressure our cluster sites have been under to respond to the unprecedented level of claims due to the pandemic.
“The new site offers a very modern and safe space for both our employees and our service providers.
“All of our staff have received full training and consolidation to provide excellent customer service and this, combined with the employer engagement and support packages we have put in place, will make a positive difference in the lives of the residents of Barnet and Hendon. ”
