It’s wonderful to see loved ones free to meet in the places they love in Sheffield UK News

As the sun rose over Sheffield after most of Covid’s legal requirements were removed, the merry revelers returned home after dancing until the early hours of the city’s nightclubs and those who work in the hospitality companies have prepared themselves to move to a more relaxed workplace.

I have visited a number of establishments in Sheffield to see what people are doing with the relaxation of the Covid rules.

It was nice to bump into the Grayson family who were finally able to participate in their monthly ritual of dating and pieceing the world back at The Grapes pub on Trippet Lane for just the second time since the start of the pandemic.

Nikki Grayson described the dating as “therapy” for her; and being able to pick up where we left off and enjoy those precious moments even more is exactly why removing the restrictions has been a relief to so many.

For the most part, clients and staff seemed to be happy to finally see “freedom day”; but most of the people I spoke to also said they approach relaxed rules with caution. It comes after the daily number of Covid cases surpassed 50,000 for the first time since January.

Many people still wore face masks, both in reception areas and on public transport; many still used the NHS test and trace app; and it was as if some people were using their new-found freedom to maintain the Covid demands they still felt were necessary.
