It is already the “best restaurant” in Newcastle.
Today the Rio Brazilian Steakhouse, a carnivore paradise in the heart of Jesmond, won a nice Tripadvisor award.
The all-you-can-eat restaurant has been named the best “Everyday Eats” restaurant in Britain by the travel bible.

The prestigious award goes to the UK’s best restaurant serving great food at prices that don’t break the bank.
And Rio beat tens of thousands of sites for this accolade, an even more incredible achievement considering the Osborne Road site only opened in November 2019, months before the pandemic.
However, the Brazilian-style Rodizo has carved a pretty meaty reputation for itself offering patrons all the steak, lamb, and chicken you can handle – with succulent cuts carved directly onto your plate by the waiters.
Hundreds of satisfied customers have given the restaurant top marks on Tripadvisor, giving it the highest rating among Newcastle’s 883 restaurants.
Manager Charlotte Robson admitted she was “very proud” to have won the award, while revealing the secret to the venue’s success.
“I don’t sound our trumpet, but I think it’s the service. We are down to earth, constantly chatting with customers and making them feel like they are our friends,” she said.
“And the food is good – that helps too! We get the best cuts of beef from all over the world, and if not, we send them back.”
The award is one of the main awards given in Tripadvisor’s 2021 Travelers’ Choice restaurants “Best of the Best” rewards.
And another popular Newcastle spot – Simla Restaurant – came in fifth in the same category.
“It’s no secret that the restaurant industry has taken a hit over the past year, but the good news is that future diners around the world are hungrier than ever to dine again,” said Martin Verdon-Roe, General Manager of Hotel Solutions at Tripadvisor.
“There is so much to explore this summer and beyond and whatever your fancy the Best of the Best Restaurants Awards are here to serve as a menu of options to satisfy your appetite.”
