Two more people diagnosed with Covid-19 die in Somerset Bath City News

Two other people have died in Somerset in the past 24 hours after being diagnosed with Covid-19 in the past 28 days.

The county has also recorded 732 other confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

It comes the day after Freedom Day, when a number of lockdown restrictions have been lifted – such as mask wearing, the rule of six and social distancing.

Both deaths occurred in Bath and northeast Somerset.

In Somerset, the biggest increase was in northern Somerset, where another 208 positive cases of covid were discovered as of 9 a.m. today.

The smallest increase was recorded in Somerset West and Taunton, where 37 more cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.

Nationally, there have been 46,558 other coronavirus cases bringing the UK total to 5,519,602 since the pandemic was officially declared in March of last year.

There have, however, been no new coronavirus deaths in the Somerset region.

The number of positive test results in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with the new positive test results in parentheses:

Bath and North East Somerset: 11 768 (+208)
Mendip: 4,511 (+84) North Somerset: 13,565 (+236) Sedgemoor: 6,466 (+77) Somerset West and Taunton: 6,957 (+37) South Somerset: 6,8919 (+90)

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with new deaths and deaths subtracted from the total of the following revisions to past data, in parentheses:
