Man stabbed to death near Brixton tube station ‘filming music video’ | UK News

A man who was fatally stabbed near Brixton tube station in south London was filming a clip at the time, witnesses said.

The victim, aged in his twenties, was declared dead at the scene on Wednesday around 8:45 p.m.

Police said a man was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A 24-year-old passer-by said: “I didn’t see the stab wounds but saw him take his last breath.

“I saw him on the ground, there were lots of police around him.

“People around said they were doing a music video and an argument broke out of nowhere and a man pulled out a machete and stabbed this guy several times.

“A girl was also slashed. They said it was the victim’s girlfriend when she tried to intervene.”

The man received first aid immediately and the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended, but despite their efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another spectator told the BBC that the incident involved a number of high-end cars, including a Lamborghini, Ferrari and a black Range Rover, as well as two quads.

But the PA news agency was informed: “I haven’t seen a Lamborghini or anything like that – maybe they had been moved – but I saw the quads.”

Metropolitan police said Wednesday evening: “The closest relatives (of the victim) have been informed. No formal identification has taken place and an autopsy will be organized.”

Specialist Crime Command detectives have been notified, the force added.
