Somerset coronavirus latest as 516 new cases reported Bath City News

A further 516 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Somerset in the past 24 hours.

The biggest increase was in North Somerset, where there were 146 other positive cases of Covid as of 9 a.m. today (July 22).

Meanwhile, the smallest increase was recorded in Somerset West and Taunton, where 34 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed.

Nationally, as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, there had been 39,906 other laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK, the government said.

As of Thursday, 84 more people had died within 28 days after testing positive for Covid-19.

This brings the UK total to 128,980.

Government data up to July 21 shows that of the 83,021,749 Covid injections administered in the UK, 46,433,845 were first doses.

Some 36,587,904 were second doses.

The number of positive test results in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with the new positive test results in parentheses:

Bath and North East Somerset: 12,053 (+143) Mendip: 4,633 (+55) North Somerset: 13,862 (+146) Sedgemoor: 6,561 (+41) Somerset West and Taunton: 7,033 (+34) South Somerset : 7 111 (+97))

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with new deaths and deaths subtracted from the total of the following revisions to past data, in parentheses:
