Mick Norcross: Son Kirk says his father “has changed in himself” UK News

Mick Norcross’s family have revealed he has “changed in himself” during the lockdown and his mood deteriorated during the pandemic.

Mr Norcross’ son and Towie star Kirk Norcross wrote coroner Lincoln Brooks to describe how his father struggled throughout the lockdown period.

Kirk was reunited with his father after smashing a window with a hammer to gain access to the property after being unable to contact him, the hearing said.

In the letter, read by the coroner, Kirk said: “During the first lockdown in March 2020, I really noticed that my father had changed in himself.

“He was an early riser, watched TV and took a shower. He would always be around the family and we were very close.

“I noticed he was starting to sleep in, sleeping until 9 am and lounging on the couch the whole time. He seemed downhearted and depressed and no longer had a positive attitude.

“The developments should have been completed and my father should have retired. We knew each other well enough to know when we were down.

“There were other times when my dad was business as usual, but those times were very short lived.

“He’s been practically like that since confinement. He became very distant and I found it upsetting because we were always very close.

Kirk said his father occasionally commented on his situation, but the issue of real estate developments “was the only issue” going on.

Kirk said he never really thought his father would lose.

He added: “I always thought he would still benefit from the work and when it was finally over he would be back to himself.”

Mr Norcross’ partner, Samantha Keahey, said in another letter to the coroner: “He put a lot of pressure on himself to be a supplier and given the way he was it would have been difficult to open up to his family the situation in which he found himself.

“I explained that nobody cares about this, the developments, but everyone cares about Mick.”
