Glastonbury Tor called ‘just an old tower on a hill’ by disappointed visitor Bath City News

Glastonbury Tor is known for its breathtaking views and medieval history, but it seems not all guests are satisfied after visiting the attraction.

A handful of visitors pointed out what they consider to be nothing more than “good views”.

A TripAdvisor user took aim at the so-called “legends” of Tor and said that “it really is neither mythical nor enchanting.” Do whatever you want with it.

The same user described the monument as “just an old tower on a hill”.

A second reviewer on TripAdvisor named Sophie R, also pointed to the simplicity of the monuments as one of its downsides.

She also mentioned that it was just a building on a hill and added “once you’ve seen it once you’ve seen it forever”.

Sophie R also pointed out that due to its exposure it gets windy and cold, but gave credit to the magnificent views it offers.

One reviewer, however, did not target the monument, but rather the people who visit it.

Bob K of Torquay praised the location but criticized “the bad attitude of Northerners and Londoners posing as genuine hippies”.

These specific people don’t show up until after 6 p.m. according to Bob, who went on to explain that “having long hair and a tunic doesn’t make you a hippie.”

Its caption read “Spoiled like the city by the people”.

Aside from his hatred of the people, he pointed to the history and magic of Tor as being great.
