THESE photos show Parkrun’s long-awaited return.

In a statement sent to more than three million members of the weekly 5k races last week, Parkrun’s events delivery manager, Helen Hood, announced that a “vast majority” of events in England would reopen on Saturday. July 24.

All Parkrun events were to follow the Organizations Covid Framework, which was developed in collaboration with Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

The framework includes a protocol including hand sanitization, barcode scanning, distancing, and a virtual volunteer app.

Helen said the frame, which also doesn’t include spitting or fiving, will continue to be in place in all locations for the foreseeable future.

The running event, which was founded by Paul Sinton-Hewitt in 2004, hosts weekly events at more than 20 Sussex locations including East Brighton Park, Hove Promenade, Preston Park, Littlehampton Promenade, Bognor, Horsham, Seaford Beach , Eastbourne and more at 9am. Every Saturday.
