Love Island: Lucinda Strafford from Brighton excluded from ITV show Brighton News

LOVE ISLAND contestant Lucinda Strafford was banned from the show after a shock elimination.

The 21-year-old from Ditchling, who was sent to pack her bags with her partner Aaron Francis, described her experience on the ITV dating show as “hectic, fun and exciting.”

In a surprise announcement on Sunday’s show, Islanders learned the audience voted for their favorite couple, and it was revealed that Lucinda and Aaron finished at the bottom of the pile.

News of the public vote was texted to islanders and Lucinda burst into tears after learning that her stay at the Mallorcan villa was over.

But Lucinda, who previously dated Brighton and Hove Albion footballer Aaron Connolly, said she was “happy” to leave the Mallorcan villa with her new love.

She said: “I am delighted to see where life is taking me. I left with Aaron which is amazing so I’m happy.

“It’s bittersweet because I loved it there and you never want to go, but your time is coming, and everyone does.”

“I remember getting up and looking around seeing the couples stand up and thinking, ‘Oh my God, if any of these couples leave, that’ll be a great thing. ”

“I’m going to root for everyone. I can’t wait to watch my girls and boys. It’s gonna be so weird watching everyone but I can’t wait.

Lucinda had previously been associated with former contestant Brad McCelland before being dumped from the island earlier in the series.

Brad, a laborer from Northumberland, said he hopes to continue his relationship with Lucinda, but she appears to have ended their relationship.

Lucinda, who attended Downlands Community School in Hassocks, said: “I really want to keep things going with Aaron.

“By the time Brad left I was really upset but I’m glad I stayed because I kept going and saw Aaron in a different way.

“I felt like when I walked in there was Brad and Aaron and it was nice to focus on one person. It meant I could connect with Aaron and we got along really well.

“No regrets. I live without regret. I was in this myself, couldn’t have done much more.
