Motorists will have to pay if they wish to park in a Mill Hill parking lot for more than two hours from Monday.
A notice from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of Barnet schedule has detailed plans to introduce a fee into the Daws Lane parking lot “to manage it efficiently”.
Parking will be free until 2:00 am, but from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Saturday, the following charges will apply: £ 2 for a maximum of three hours; £ 3 for up to four hours; £ 6 for over four hours.
The notice says the order will go into effect on Monday and drivers will be able to pay through the municipality’s telephone payment system, through a credit / debit card parking meter, at Paypoint outlets, or using municipality parking vouchers.
Meanwhile, a number of streets in the borough are expected to be temporarily closed for road works, starting next week.
Sunny Gardens Road NW4, between numbers 107 and 127, is expected to be closed for five days from Monday to allow for the installation of a new water connection.
Access will be allowed only for residents, but other drivers must use Sunningfields Crescent, Sunningfield Road, Nursery Walk and vice versa.
Partingdale Lane NW7 is also expected to be closed to vehicles from Monday, this time for a scheduled 12-day period to allow for the reconfiguration of pipelines and the installation of a new water meter.
The alternate route for drivers will be through Partingdale Lane, The Ridgeway, Bray Way, Inglis Way, Frith Lane and vice versa.
Wentworth Road NW11, at its junction with Portsdown Avenue, is also due to be closed on Monday, but only for that day while a water valve is inspected.
Motorists are advised to use Highcroft Gardens, Templars Avenue, St Andrews Road and vice versa instead.
Another inspection of the water valves is scheduled to take place at Leeside Crescent NW11, temporarily closing it at its junction with Princes Park Avenue on Thursday August 5th.
The alternate route will pass through Princes Park Avenue, Bridge Lane, Cranbourne Gardens and Oakfields Road.
Mays Lane EN5 is expected to be closed for five days from Monday August 9 between its junctions with Woodfall Avenue and Eton Avenue for development work.
Possible detours will be via Woodfall Avenue, Vale Drive, Milton Avenue and Mays Lane; Elton Avenue, Vale Drive, Milton Avenue and Mays Lane; Woodfall Avenue, Vale Drive and Mays Lane; Elton Avenue, Vale Drive and Mays Lane.
