A new East Asian-inspired fast food restaurant is opening “soon” in Bath.
Itsu, an Asian food brand for healthy eating with more than 70 stores in the UK, will open its first city center location this summer.
Signs announcing the new store were placed in the window of the Stall Street unit with the promise that it will be open soon.

The fast food chain has taken over the place that was once the Hotter shoe store.
Itsu has huge global ambitions, with a commitment to continue to open many more stores across the UK.
The company was started by Julian Metcalfe, co-founder of the Pret A Manger sandwich chain and founder of Metcalfe’s Food Company, in partnership with Clive Schlee.

Mr. Metcalfe “fell in love with the harmony and precision” of Japanese cuisine after a visit to Tokyo in 1994.
He said: “I came home determined to create a new kind of dining place.
“I had no idea how difficult that would be, but Itsu Chelsea opened in 1997, itsu Soho three years later, followed by 75 more over the next 20 years.”
The fast food chain offers a number of authentic Japanese and Asian dishes, including gyozas, sushi, and platters to share.
Itsu has been contacted for comment.
