The queen’s daughter unveiled the new Lucky Pup dog cafe, an expansion of a previous company that now seats 150 people.
The menu includes canine treats and the project has been in development for three years after the owners of the Nicholson family realized that their small dog cafe had outgrown their building.
The cafeteria is outside the main farm complex and is geared towards dog walkers who are not required to pay the Cannon Hall entrance fee.
Princess Anne was given a tour of Robert Nicholson’s site and heard about the farm’s Facebook live streams and the animal adoption scheme.
Nicholson said: “It has been a few years in development and they have faced some obstacles along the way, but we are delighted to reveal that our new 150 seat dog cafe has been officially opened by His Royal Highness, who took a break from his duties to have afternoon tea with Roger and Cynthia, the founders of the attraction.
“It was a true honor to show Her Royal Highness our family’s farm and she seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say. He was here for quite a few hours and it was a wonderful tribute to the hard work of our staff who have really come together to keep the business running throughout the closing. “
