Glickenhaus introduces new FCEV pickup with 600 mile range Car News

The American company Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has previewed a concept of hydrogen fuel cell pickup (FCEV), which, according to the manufacturer, will target 600 miles of range.

The Glickenhaus zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell starter pickup concept is based on the Baja model, presented by the company in February this year.

Glickenhaus described the car as having a “fast, inexpensive and readily available refueling solution” and that it “can be used as a generator”. The company aims to build a prototype later this year.

The concept includes four front lights, a protective body and a winch up front, with a large LED light bar on the roof. It is fitted with off-road tires, an SCG badge and a sturdy body.

It was also designed with flared wheel arches and the rear windows were done away with, as two of the car’s three hydrogen tanks will be placed just behind the driver and passenger seats.

If completed, the concept is likely to enter the Baja 1000, like the Baja Boot, which beat Ford’s Bronco racer by 200 miles last year.

The company, led by former director James Glickenhaus, is already actively producing supercars, including the road-approved 650 hp SCG 004S. He made his Goodwood Festival of Speed debut earlier this year as a road version of the company’s odd Le Mans racer.
