THE family of a mother of two who died after a car overturn on the A27 says their hearts are “broken”.
Cheryl Brookes, 35, was a passenger in a white Ford Fiesta ST that pulled off the road at Pevensey and overturned around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family – father William, brother Billy, 19-year-old daughter Bethany and 17-year-old son Liam – described her as a special woman as they paid tribute to her.
They said, “Cheryl was very kind, caring and loving. She was always there for people and always put others before her.
“She was a very special and loved member of the family and she kept us all together. We were so close and the bond between us will never be severed.
“Cheryl rarely had time for herself because she was always doing things for others.
“She took care of her son Liam and when her father was sick she never left him. She adored her grandchildren – Esme, three and Brody, 18 months – and always bought them things.
“She loved to sing and dance – she was a livewire. And she was an excellent cook. Christmas was her favorite time, but she celebrated every occasion, always putting decorations in the house.
“Cheryl had a pretty tough life, but she became a fighter and ended up accomplishing a lot. She was really happy. We had some vacations and plans for the future booked, but she is going to be missing so much now.
“She left a big hole in our lives and she will never be replaced. We are totally heartbroken for the way his life was taken and this is something we will never get over. ”
Cheryl’s father William said, “Cheryl was my youngest daughter.
“We needed each other everyday, now I can’t function without her. I miss her texts and calls, my heart hurts totally, my pain will never go away until we are. together.
“I love you unconditionally and miss you with every breath, and my promise I will keep you.”
Cheryl’s daughter, Bethany, added, “My mom wasn’t just my mom, she was my best friend, more like a sister, the woman I told everything to, the woman I would lean on when I would need her.
“My heart is so broken that words will never explain my pain. We shared amazing memories that I will never forget.
“She had the best smile and the funniest laugh. She had so many people who loved her, her personality is just amazing and everyone loved it about her.
“I will love you and I will miss you forever and ever. Sleep well, beautiful, until we meet again.
