New £ 700million film studio affected in Hertfordshire UK News

A £ 700million film and television studio facility is expected to be built in Hertfordshire, which could create more than 4,500 jobs.

The site is approximately 20 miles east of Warner Bros Studio in Leavesden, located in Broxbourne in the eastern county.

It is understood that the new studio is expected to be larger than other rivals such as Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, where the James Bond and Star Wars films were filmed.

Global investor Blackstone and real estate giant Hudson Pacific Properties have acquired a 91-acre site for £ 120million, marking the first Sunset Studios outside the United States.

The companies said there would also be a total planned investment of over £ 700million for the project, which is expected to create more than 4,500 permanent jobs.

Sunset Studios has hosted big screen hits on the big and small screen, including When Harry Met Sally, La La Land, and many Oscar-winning films.
