The site, which opened in the summer of 2019 and cost around £ 1.75million to build, is located in South Treviddo off the A38 and can be used by gypsies and travelers for stays up to three months per year.
The site charges a weekly fee for caravans and other vehicles as well as a security deposit.
Groups must sign and adhere to an agreement that outlines expected behavior and a waste policy prior to their stay.
The level of damage would have disgusted Paul Patterson, who lives near the site.
He shared footage of the destruction, referring to it with the comment: “They left a complete mess.”
Officials had broken an electric charging station, a toilet seat and left large amounts of garbage strewn around the site, which had been open for two years this month.
Mr Patterson, in an interview with CornwallLive said the area has only been used a small number of times and the site, located near Liskeard, can accommodate up to 15 caravans at a time.
He believes the trash problem was caused by guests who frequented the premises recently.
He said: “There were three or four trailers there last week and now they’re gone.
“But without their garbage.”
Items thrown around the amenities included food and plastic waste, clothing, and a gas cylinder.
There was also damage to the bathroom facilities where the toilet was covered in feces with more trash on the floor, and one of the toilet seats was ripped off.
The site is also helping Cornwall Council to keep Gypsy and Traveler families away from unauthorized encampments.

“I’ve been past it before and they even made bonfires there which shouldn’t be allowed. This time they even damaged the electrical port.”
Mr. Patterson praised the group, saying, “It’s a good lifestyle they do.”
But he said he felt the garbage they left behind seemed to “rub people’s faces in it.”
He added that the clean-up work carried out by the council which “resumes after them” is “not in progress”.
Cornwall City Council was notified of the damage and a spokesperson said he was handling the issue: “City Council is aware of the damage at the South Treviddo site and assessed the site on Friday to arrange repairs and a cleaning. “
The project is managed and maintained by Cornwall Housing but has rarely been used since its inception.
It is believed that the site has not operated at full capacity once since work was completed by Cormac Solutions Ltd two years ago.
A number of unauthorized camps have sprung up in Cornwall this summer, and all who remain are given the opportunity to move to the South Treviddo transit site before any further action is taken.
However, in the past two weeks, some groups have already categorically refused to settle there.
