Asian markets fall as US continues to decline, FTSE ends with losses Business News

Markets fell in Asia on Thursday after a second straight day of losses on Wall Street in response to the Federal Reserve’s minutes indicating it could begin to withdraw its huge financial support by the end of the year.

All major indices are trading in the red, with the Japanese Nikkei at over 200%, the Hang Seng at 1.7% and the Shanghai Composite at 0.7%.

Indian stock markets remained closed for Muharram National Day.

US stocks had a second weak session this week, with all three blue chip indices falling. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the & P 500 both finished down more than 1%. The Nasdaq Composite was also down 0.9%.

London’s FTSE 100 fell on Wednesday as investor sentiment remained subdued globally. The blue chip index finished down 12 points, or 0.16%, at 7,169. Just Eat Takeaway was the biggest winner, zooming over 5%.
