4-year-old girl ‘seriously injured’ after falling from moving car – Drivers ‘horrified’ | United Kingdom | New UK News

Police were called to the scene at around 4 p.m. in Grimsby, Lincolnshire this afternoon. She was rushed to Diana Hospital, Princess of Wales, after the incident took place near the A180 near the Westgate roundabout.

She was then transferred to Sheffield Children’s Hospital in an ambulance, under police escort due to the severity of her injuries.

Humberside Police tweeted: ‘Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident on the A180 at the Birchin Way roundabout and closures are currently in place.

“Please avoid the area were possible.”

Sergeant John Rickells said: “It was good that people stopped and helped.

“It shows the good side of people and it all helps. We also ask people who haven’t spoken to us yet to contact us with what they have seen and especially if they have any dashcam footage.”

“We are still looking for CCTV so that we can establish the circumstances.”

A witness told GrimbsyLive he heard a child screaming after the incident.

He said: “She was screaming in pain.

And another witness claimed to have seen the girl cradled in the middle of the road.

A man, who was refueling his car at the time, wrote on Facebook that he had “heard a commotion”.

He added that he then “saw this little girl lying on the road”.

The man said: “There was nothing I could do to help, I just stood there in shock.

“I have never experienced anything so overwhelming in my life.

“I hope she’s okay.”
