“I can no longer attend the event which is sold out and for which the festival organizers will have to reimburse the tickets.

“Keep your regrets to them. Yes, please, I didn’t get to see Belgrade for the first time.

“But all the more so as people who are looking forward to the event will be disappointed.

They must then justify a negative Covid test to board the flight.

However, according to government guidelines, NHS testing is not eligible.

As stated: “The NHS tests cannot be used for pre-departure testing purposes prior to travel to England.

“You cannot take an NHS test abroad with you to use on yourself before you return.”

Despite the rules on the government website, Twitter followers quickly jumped on Mr. Welsh’s support.

One person said: “This sort of thing is going to deter me from traveling overseas until I win the lottery and can book private jets or there is an international agreement on what is needed for steal.”

Another said: “No country accepts the NHS test, must be a private company.

“Total scam. I must have spent hundreds recently on private testing.”
