It was the sound and sight of a major fire that sent columns of smoke through the M5.

Firefighters battled the blazes in Banwell, Somerset, starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday and he was brought under control at 10 p.m.

Residents had to be evacuated and a cordon was in place as the fire ravaged three single-storey industrial units.
Seven cars, a forklift and a large quantity of tires were involved in the fire.

Eight fire apparatus, a rotating ladder, a command unit, a welfare unit, the drone crew, a high-flow pump and a garden hose were used to extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured in the blaze and residents evacuated at the height of the incident have since been returned home.
And after a thorough fire inspection, the cause of the fire turned out to be accidental.

Teams returned to the scene on Saturday morning, using thermal cameras to identify hot spots.
No hotspot was found and the scene was left in the hands of the owner.
