The Argus has compiled a list of the seven best Indian restaurants in town, according to the travel site TripAdvisor.

With a rating of five out of five, Manju’s on Trafalgar Street is one of Brighton’s top-rated restaurants, with 86% of reviewers rating their experience as excellent.

Reviewers describe the restaurant as “simply the best” and “a must try”, with “tasty, fresh and delicious food” and “patient and friendly staff”.

A reviewer from Brighton said of Manju’s: “The food is phenomenal – this is the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at.”

Laurel in St James’s Street, Brighton

Bay leaf

Located on St James’s Street, near Brighton’s famous Royal Pavilion, Bayleaf is described as a ‘Travelers Choice’ by the website, with a 4.5 rating and excellent reviews accounting for 75% of their total on the site. .

A reviewer said they stumbled across the restaurant when they visited Brighton for their anniversary.

“The service was great and the food was amazing. The food came out piping hot, all the waiters were very friendly and welcoming, giving the whole restaurant the perfect atmosphere, ”they wrote.

Planet India

With a rating of 4.5, Planet India on Richmond Parade offers “good service from really nice people,” according to reviews on TripAdvisor.

Over two-thirds of reviewers rate the restaurant excellent, with one describing the food as “the best Indian we have ever experienced”.

“The food is delicious, the service is second to none. Try anything on the menu. Everything is authentic. The flavors will blow your mind, ”wrote another reviewer.

Another restaurant labeled “Travelers’ Choice”, Indian Summer on East Street, Brighton has over 1,000 excellent reviews on the website.

Noting highly for its food, service and atmosphere, reviewers described the restaurant as a ‘great overall experience’ and ‘an absolute must’.

Another praised the restaurant’s large portions and said they would come back, despite living over three hours away.

The chilli pickle

A “Travelers Choice” on Jubilee Street, The Chilli Pickle is listed in the Michelin Guide, describing it as a “casual restaurant with a lively atmosphere and friendly service.”

With a rating of four and high marks for its food, reviewers praise the restaurant with one going so far as to say it was “the best restaurant we have eaten at in Brighton”.

The reviewer said: “This was recommended to us and I’m so glad we listened! The food was just divine and full of great flavors.

“It was just amazing and the staff were very friendly. I will 100% come back when I get back.

Curry leaf coffee

The kitchens at the restaurant on Ship Street in Brighton and Upper St. James’s Street in Kemptown both score highly among TripAdvisor reviews, with a rating of 4.5.

Both branches of the Curry Leaf Cafe get high marks for their food and service, with one reviewer describing it as “trendy and tasty curry coffee.”

“Sadly we’re just visiting or we would definitely be back again and again – outstanding,” wrote another.

The restaurant of the eye of the east

On London Road, Brighton, this’ Travelers’ Choice ‘restaurant received a 4.5 rating on the travel website, with reviewers praising its excellent service and food.

One reviewer encouraged others not to wait another minute or so before going to try their food.

“It was just amazing – so good. I’m already thinking about when I can try again,” he said.

“The best Indian restaurant in Brighton without a doubt. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
