GIRLS Aloud star Sarah Harding has died of breast cancer at the age of 39.
The singer revealed last year that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that the disease is spreading to other parts of her body.
Her mother, Marie, announced her death today, Sunday, September 5, with a post shared on Harding’s Instagram page. She wrote that her daughter passed away “peacefully” this morning.
The caption of the message reads: “It is with deep sorrow that I share the news today that my beautiful daughter Sarah has sadly passed away.
“Many of you know Sarah fought cancer and fought so hard from her diagnosis until her last day.
“She escaped peacefully this morning. I want to thank everyone for their kind support over the past year.
“It meant the world to Sarah and it gave her great strength and comfort to know that she was loved.”
Marie added: “I know she won’t want to be remembered for her battle with this terrible disease – she was a shining star and I hope this is how she will be remembered. her instead. ”
Harding revealed in March of this year that Christmas 2020 was “probably my last” because his cancer had spread to his spine.
She also said she almost died of sepsis in hospital and was in a coma for two weeks.
Becoming famous on Popstars: The Rivals, Harding performed with Girls Aloud for 11 years, from 2002 to 2013, before the group went their separate ways.
In 2017, she won Celebrity Big Brother and also pursued an acting career.
